Kevin Rudd wants to stop feeding fatcats, John McCain’s skills of deduction tell us Obama is a decent person and so NOT an Arab, and Sarah Palin gets snubbed by Oprah in a feminist coup
Kevin Rudd has pledged to reign in huge executive salaries, proposing to rewrite the rules of banking. The Greens have gone one step further by introducing a bill into the Senate that would cap salaries to a measly $5million, or 10 times the Prime Minister’s salary, whichever is lower. For some additional fun facts, $5M is 100 times the median adult wage, and 10 times the current PM’s pay is $3.3M. But how will they afford a second jet? Being introduced by the Greens, the bill was instantly defeated, but it looks like similar strategies would have the Government’s support - probably because there are not $2M a year jobs waiting for Kevin Rudd when he leaves politics. Then again he did actually get to be Prime Minister…
John McCain has had to curb taunting of Barack Obama, by and large perpetrated by the angry mob that assembles at his campaign rallies (FOX News notwithstanding). Shouts of “Arab”, “Muslim”, “Terrorist”, and even “Kill Him” from the more partisan elements of the crowd have all been heard on news coverage, prompting McCain to defuse the situation - in response to one woman saying that she was afraid because Obama was an Arab, he refuted it by saying Obama was not an Arab, but to the contrary was a decent family man. Because everyone knows that…. well, you get the picture. It seems that the McCain/Palin camp’s continued speculation over Obama’s connection to Weather Underground Frontman/Charity Organiser Bill Ayers has fused with old allegations that Obama is a Muslim. Much as the full salute was a national symbol under Hitler, can we expect to see fist-bumps instated as public policy over the next few months? Only time will tell….
Palin is no longer the only pitbull on the campaign trail
And Oprah Winfrey has snubbed Sarah Palin, by saying that she would not have the Republican VP Nominee on her show. This has prompted some pundits to ask whether Oprah may in fact be partisan. Biased, even… I mean, when she endorsed Barack Obama, and said that he was the best man for the job, nay, “The One”, surely she meant to do the same for McCain. Oprah has said that Palin can come on after she loses… er… after the election is held.
